Description:

We first built this Eurovan for Gerry back in October 2010. For details on that sale, click here. Total out the door price at that time was $37,650, and this is all we did at that time:

• Fresh GoWesty rebuilt automatic transaxle
• All new timing chains and re-sealed covers
• GoWesty super duper ultra thorough 60K service
• New water pump with steel impeller (instead of sudden-death factory plastic impeller water pump)
• New thermostat and plastic housing—just in case
• AC serviced and working right FOR SURE
• GoWesty super duper detail inside and out
  - as close to new looking, working, and smelling as possible
  - everything that is supposed to be there is there
  - everything that is there is works—guaranteed!
  - two new batteries and charging isolator
  - refrigerator thoroughly gone-through and working FOR SURE
• Nice gray rubber mats front and rear
• Keyless entry system
• GoWesty lift and level
  - Bilstein shock absorbers
  - 16" wheel & tire package
  - New 16" alloy wheels
  - New Michelin tires all around
  - 4-wheel alignment
• All new brakes
• Minor body damage on right side and rear hatch repaired and paint blended
• GoWesty black texture treatment around lower body band

Something went wrong with the engine when Gerry had it, and he had a used one put in at a VW dealer under warranty. So, this time around we had to re-do to that engine what we did the first time, plus some. This time around we did the following:

• All new timing chains and re-sealed covers
• GoWesty super duper ultra thorough major service
• New water pump With steel impeller
• New thermostat and plastic housing—just in case
• AC serviced and ICE COLD
• Our usual GoWesty super duper detail inside and out
  - as close to new looking, working, and smelling as possible
  - everything that is supposed to be there is there
  - everything that is there is works—guaranteed!
• Unreliable refrigerator replaced with GoWesty Fridge-B-Gone
• New Engel all-electric refrigerator
• GoWesty solar panel system
• Full page of reliability enhancing mechanical items, totalling almost $4000

She is better than before, only has about 16K more miles, and is a solid $5,000+ less!

Tom and Pam snatched this one right up! We can't wait to hear back from them once they get out and about with their Eurovan!

Subject: Arrival of our GoWesty camper!

Hi Lucas:

Pam and I wanted you to know that our beautiful 1999 GoWesty camper arrived in Boise late yesterday afternoon. Actually, the transport did take a bit of patience with the one false start and all, but overall we're pleased with how it got here. Yesterday, we only drove the van just to get it licensed and then home. Over the next day or two we'll go through it thoroughly to see how everything works.

By the way, the GoWesty teddy bear is a nice touch. Same with the license plate holder. While it does seem a bit strange to buy a vehicle on-line, without ever seeing or driving it, we are very pleased with how everything worked out with GoWesty. Loved your website and how informative it is and appreciated how well you treated us.

You will probably hear more from us once we've tried everything out, but for now just a big thank you.

Cheers,

Tom and Pam

Subject: Cross Country Trip in our GoWesty camper

GoWesty crew,

Last week, we finished a motor trip in our Go-Westy camper we purchased shortly before our trip. Ten thousand (and three) miles, thirty states, eight weeks. Idaho to Southern California, east through the south to Georgia, north to Maine and back to Idaho. Except for two nights in a motel, and a few nights with friends and family we lived in our van and loved it. It drove just fine through lots of different terrain and weather and was comfortable to live in.

As you know we had a few issues, glad we were able to contact you on the phone when we needed to—thanks. None of the stuff was major--all more or less expected in a new (to us) vehicle and not a surprise for a vehicle with some miles. Nothing major enough to stop us, that’s for sure!

We really learned a lot about our GoWesty camper, and really enjoyed it on this LONG trip.

Thank you GoWesty crew.

Cheers,

Tom and Pam

Subject: OIL LEAK CHECK, LEAK DOWN CHECK, AC COMPRESSOR BEARING

Hi Lucas:

First, let me thank you for paying to have our oil consumption problem diagnosed. I am quite aware that you did so out of good will and I appreciate that. The shop you sent us to was great; they are fine folks.

I guess it's good to know that the problem is not due to a leak. Also, important to know there is a potential problem with the AC compressor. It will be interesting to see if the problem continues at somewhat slower driving speeds. If it does, then I'll consider replacing the oil breather parts. We will also get the AC compressor problem fixed, then we will take off on our next adventure to Montana, British Columbia, and Washington.

Lucas, once again I want to thank you for how well you've taken care of us both throughout our initial purchase transaction with Go-Westy and afterward. It's unusual these days to encounter such positive customer service. Thank you.

Hope all is well with you,

Cheers,

Tom and Pam
