Tim had a blast with this puppy and took really good care of it—but had to part with it for personal reasons.
Here is what we are going to do to prepare it for its next home:
- Switch from locking F/R differentials to Posi-Traction F/R and one knob
- Four new tires on the ground
- Space saver tire on 14" alloy wheel above skid plate
- Thorough details inside and out
- Super major GoWesty ultra major service
- All maintenance back to zero miles
- Auxliary battery updated to current state of the art
Fox shocks and state of the art suspension springs, front and rear
- Full page of reliability items, including our new GW-EFI system
- Complete AC system overhaul—but don't get too excited...
Once all of the above is done (it's not done yet), this Westy will be better that when it first left here, with only 7,461 more miles on it, and a full $12,844.77 less than it cost to build back then. This Syncro Westy would cost well over $90K to build today.

John snapped up this dream machine, and is having the following done to it:
- Switch to simpler, 1-knob Syncro--2WD/4WD selection only
- Front and rear lockable differentials changed out for passive troque-biasing type
- Standard-height springs--needs to fit in garage!
- Space saver tire above skid plate
- Swing away carrier added to right side
- Universal carriers on both side--gotta make room for bikes!
- Extra seat tracks added
- Extra bench seated added, upholstered to match Recaro

Nice buy, John! Happy trails!
