We finished this vehicle and had it waiting at the Long Beach dock for shipment to Chile right on time! Ilan and Dalia are currently in Chile and headed south. You can keep track of their adventure on their blog (in Hebrew).

Happy trails, Ilan and Dalia!

Ok we made it and the van was excellent.
We climbed 6000 ft to 14,800 on straight road on 2nd gear just before sunrise, No heating at all.
We then crossed 300 miles off road cruising 14500-15000 ft to the highest geyser field in on the planet. Volcano land and freezing temps.
We are now in Uyuni getting the van fumigated to cross the Salar.

Best, Ilan
